Applesauce-Cinnamon Ornaments

This is a very simple recipe you can make (even the kids can help). We use these (cheap) ornaments for gifts, and for tree and house decor.

All you need is 1/2 cup of cinnamon, and 1/2 cup of applesauce.

It is super easy! Add the cinnamon, and gradually add the applesauce until the mixture is dough-like.
Use the extra cinnamon as "flour" to roll the dough to an eighth to a quarter inch thick.
Cut out the shapes with cookie cutters, and use a straw or skewer to poke a hole through the top.
Bake the ornaments at 200 degrees for 1 hour. The ornaments should be very dry and hard.
Let them cool.

Afterwards, you can do whatever you'd like with them! Tie them onto packages, hang them on your tree, give them away as gifts, or do what we did -

Tie them onto twine and hang them in an uneven row in the window.

They're primitive, handmade, old fashioned - and they smell good too! Perfect for Christmas!
