Best ever Chocolate chip cookies!
This is, by far, my favorite recipe for chocolate chip cookies- and they are always a big hit with everybody else we share with!
Here are the ingredients:
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup shortening
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 tsp. baking soda
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 and 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
2 cups of semisweet chocolate chips (that's the same as
a 12 oz. bag.)
Optional: 1 and 1/2 cups of walnuts, pecans or hazelnuts.
RECIPE:
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees. Beat the butter and shortening in a large mixing bowl with a mixer on medium to high speed- about 30 seconds.

Beat the sugars and baking soda until combined.
Beat in the eggs and vanilla until combined.
Beat in as much flour as you can with the mixer and stir in the rest with a wooden spoon. Once all has combined, add the chocolate chips and mix in. Add the optional nuts as well.
Drop the dough with rounded teaspoons (about 2 inches apart) on an UNGREASED cookie sheet. Bake in the 375 oven for 8 to 10 minutes. Once the edges are lightly browned, the chips are melted, and they just look amazingly good,
Transfer them to a wire rack and let them cool. You may not want to wait that look- they are gooood!
